Restorative Yoga with Brett

Restorative Yoga Series
60 minutes per class.
Thursdays 7:30-8:30pm

Born and raised in Saskatoon, Brett graduated from Aden Bowman in 2004 and the University of Saskatchewan in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology.

During her academic time, a deep interest and relationship with yoga was formed. Brett certified as a yoga teacher in 2009 (Sivananda-200HR), 2012 (Maya Yoga-500HR) and most recently in spring 2020 (Yoga On The Inside-200HR). She currently teaches restorative yoga classes online, works with community associations and supports and teaches Chair Yoga classes at Vangool Wellness to help make yoga accessible to everybody.

A persistent curiosity in ‘the unseen energy that animates us all’ was emerging for Brett and in 2014 she was offered her first real reiki session. It sparked something inside that was familiar and comforting, and she followed that thread. Brett met her reiki teacher in 2015 and began to study and learn this healing technique the very next day. Her studies began with Illuminara Wellness in 2015 and 2016. She then went on to study and train with Berni Heimbecker in 2017-present. Brett has successfully completed Levels 1, 2, 3 in the Usui System of Natural Healing. She enjoys receiving reiki on a regular basis for stress and anxiety reduction. Reiki allows her to connect on a deeper level to herself and her energy all while finding greater ease and alignment with the universal energy or higher power. Giving reiki is a joy and a privilege for Brett because it’s an opportunity to hold space for people so they can heal on all levels (body, mind, and spirit).

Brett lives in Caswell Hill with her partner Derek and their two kitties (brothers) Brave Heart and Pretty Boy. She enjoys the simple pleasures and finds delight in flowers and beautiful produce. Brett is the youngest in her family and has 2 sisters and 1 brother. She is also a very proud auntie to 5 littles.

Lindsay Tysdal is a graduate from the University of Saskatchewan, where she completed both her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (2008) and her Masters of Physical Therapy (2010). She has obtained her Canadian Acupuncturist (CAFCI), Gokavi Transverse Technique dry needling (CGTTP), Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and functional movement screen (FMS) certifications. In addition she has completed numerous exercise prescription, functional testing, manual therapy, myofascial release and cupping courses.

Lindsay’s clinical practice has evolved to comprise an emerging field of concentration: young adult hip pathologies/sport hip pathologies. Over the past several years, Lindsay has had the opportunity to work closely with Saskatoon’s first and currently only Postdoctoral fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in young adult hip pathologies, such as femoral acetabular impingement and hip dysplasia. Together the two have developed screening protocols, conservative management protocols and post operative protocols. They work together to service the needs of young adult patients throughout Saskatchewan.

Clinically, Lindsay’s interests have also come to include pelvic health issues. She is passionate about helping women & men bridge the gap between rehab and fitness. Her work in this area involves prenatal and postpartum care. She is certified to provide pelvic floor rehabilitation for issues such as incontinence, urgency, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain/dysfunction. She understands the importance of pelvic health in both male and female populations and how dysfunction can play a role in many orthopedic presentations of pain/injury or just contributes to improved sport/recreational pursuit performance.

Lindsay strives to provide care, which combines a strong knowledge of manual therapy skills, acupuncture and/or dry needling treatment (if appropriate), exercise prescription, and client education.

She aims to inspire and support her clients to lead healthy lifestyles. She aspires to help them become engaged, accountable health care consumers.

Lindsay tries her best to be an exemplary healthcare professional through many different recreational fitness pursuits (strength training, swimming, biking, running, paddleboarding, hiking) and is passionate about encouraging and empowering her clients with the knowledge and skills to promote, rehabilitate and maintain their own health.

Lindsay’s goal is to help you achieve yours.

When Lindsay isn’t helping you achieve your goals, she is happy to focus on her first passions: being wife to Jeff, and mom to her twin daughters and son.

Vangool Wellness is owned and operated by Adrianne Vangool, a licensed physical therapist and yoga instructor. She is passionate about making physiotherapy and yoga accessible to all. This passion has driven her to start Vangool Wellness, where she focuses on addressing and eliminating the barriers that prevent people from taking part in yoga and from receiving physical therapy services.

Adrianne has experience in homecare and private practice settings, working with individuals with a wide range of injuries from musculoskeletal, neurological, chronic pain, vestibular dysfunction and more. Previously a varsity athlete in pole vault and basketball, she competed internationally in athletics and represented Canada on a number of occasions. Her passion for athletics and training ultimately drew her to yoga. As her passion for yoga deepened, so did her desire to spread the healing benefits of the practice.

Adrianne has since had the privilege of learning from many teachers near and far. She underwent special training in San Francisco, CA to become certified in Therapeutic Yoga, and has spent time learning from Fr. Joe Pereira (student of Iyengar) and Srivatsa Ramaswami (student of Sri TK Krishnamacharya). Adrianne is of the mind set that one is always a student, and is committed to furthering her personal practice with the guidance of her teachers.

Adrianne has a passion for spreading the joy and holistic benefits of yoga to those who are looking to restore balance in their life. With the addition of her children, she has a new appreciation for the rewards of finding that balance!
