My love of health promotion began at a young age when I became fascinated by movement, biomechanics, anatomy and human sciences. This fascination drew me to a degree in Rehab Medicine where I now work with seniors and people living with physical and cognitive challenges. In my career as an Occupational Therapist I thrive on inspiring people to overcome obstacles, achieve more than they thought possible, and improve their quality of life. This belief goes hand in hand with my love of group fitness and yoga. We all have different ailments and injuries but we are all capable of reaching movement goals. My passion is meeting those who feel uncertain or uneasy and showing them that they are able, that they are stronger than they think they are, and that they too can learn and grow. Success is not measured by the shape or your body. It is measured in happiness and the joy of movement. No single person is perfect, myself included, but we can all reach success by finding something that we love, surrounding ourselves with positive people, and reveling in our body’s capabilities.

Megan earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Saskatchewan in 2014, followed by a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2019. Since then, she has become certified in Selective Functional Movement Analysis (SFMA) – A method for diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal disorders by identifying movement pattern dysfunctions. and Bone Fit, which focuses on evidence-based exercise management for osteoporosis.

Fun Fact: Megan is also in the process of obtaining her Diploma in Canine Rehabilitation, so she can also use her skills to treat dogs!

Originally from Jasper, Megan moved to Saskatoon at age eight and now resides in the town Davidson. She was highly active growing up, participating in fastball, high school volleyball, dance, and rowing. During university, Megan transitioned from being an athlete to caring for athletes as a volunteer student trainer for the U of S Huskies. Under the mentorship of the University’s head physiotherapist, she worked with the Women’s Volleyball Team and Men’s Football Team for five years, which sparked her interest in physiotherapy.

Megan has worked as a physical therapist in private practice in Saskatoon and rural communities. With three years of experience as a bracing technician, she has in-depth knowledge of bracing as a tool to help with recovery and getting back to activity sooner. Her clinical areas of interest include musculoskeletal and sports injuries, exercise prescription, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis management, and providing care across the lifespan—from infants to seniors. Megan believes that physiotherapy plays a vital role in helping individuals remain active and continue doing the activities they enjoy. She utilizes a combination of education, exercise prescription, and manual therapy to create tailored treatment plans that empower each patient to take control of their recovery. She believes in taking a holistic approach to address the body as a whole, rather than just focusing on the area of pain.

In her spare time Megan enjoys spending time with her Husband and dog outside, whether going for walks, camping, paddleboarding, golfing, or cross- country skiing.

She has obtained her Canadian Acupuncturist (CAFCI), Gokavi Transverse Technique dry needling (CGTTP), Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and functional movement screen (FMS) certifications. In addition she has completed numerous exercise prescription, functional testing, manual therapy, myofascial release and cupping courses.

Lindsay’s clinical practice has evolved to comprise an emerging field of concentration: young adult hip pathologies/sport hip pathologies. Over the past several years, Lindsay has had the opportunity to work closely with Saskatoon’s first and currently only Postdoctoral fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in young adult hip pathologies, such as femoral acetabular impingement and hip dysplasia. Together the two have developed screening protocols, conservative management protocols and post operative protocols. They work together to service the needs of young adult patients throughout Saskatchewan.

Her work in this area involves prenatal and postpartum care. She is certified to provide pelvic floor rehabilitation for issues such as incontinence, urgency, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain/dysfunction. She understands the importance of pelvic health in both male and female populations and how dysfunction can play a role in many orthopedic presentations of pain/injury or just contributes to improved sport/recreational pursuit performance.

Lindsay strives to provide care, which combines a strong knowledge of manual therapy skills, acupuncture and/or dry needling treatment (if appropriate), exercise prescription, and client education.

She aims to inspire and support her clients to lead healthy lifestyles. She aspires to help them become engaged, accountable health care consumers.
